CHALLENGE: “Create a cool and casual celebrity driven book campaign to spark digital pre-orders that’s also solid enough to use if it hits the New York Times bestseller list.”

CHALLENGE ACCEPTEDQuestlove is undoubtedly the star, but the book had to be the hero. The author photo had to be featured, but I wanted the book shot to be the most eye catching element, so I put the author photo on a brick wall (to harken back to his Philly roots) and converted that to greyscale with a purple gradient on top. This allowed the cover to naturally pop at any size.
